Bring your own device
Live Controls on your own keyboard
Don't have a Hot-Label Controller yet? You don't need one to run your show hands-free. Hot-Label Live Controls works with any programmable keyboard or macro pad you already own — the Hot-Label Controller just comes pre-configured out of the box.
How it works
Live Controls listens for a small set of global Chrome keyboard shortcuts. Anything that can send those key combinations — your regular keyboard, a macro pad, a Stream Deck, an Elgato, a programmable numpad — can drive it. There's no special driver and nothing to pair; you just point your device's keys at the same shortcuts.
Set it up
Install the Chrome extension
Live Controls is its own Hot-Label Chrome extension — separate from the Hot-Label printing extension. Install it from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your Hot-Label account.
Set your Chrome shortcuts
Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and assign the Hot-Label commands to the key combinations in the table below. Shortcuts need a primary modifier (Ctrl or Alt) — the defaults use Alt+Shift.
Program your device
Using your keyboard or macro pad's own software (VIA, QMK, the Stream Deck app, your numpad's configurator, etc.), set each physical key to send the matching combination. Now a single press fires the command.
Go live
Open your livestream, and your keys drive giveaways, auctions, reprints, and the side panel without touching the mouse. That's the same experience the Hot-Label Controller gives you — on hardware you already have.
Default shortcuts
These are the commands the Hot-Label Controller ships with. Map any subset you want — you can pick different key combinations, as long as your device and chrome://extensions/shortcuts agree.
| Shortcut | Command |
|---|---|
Alt+Shift+2 | Run Next Auction |
Alt+Shift+3 | Run Giveaway |
Alt+Shift+4 | Open Hot-Label Side Panel |
Alt+Shift+7 | Run Sudden Death Auction |
Alt+Shift+5 | Reprint Last Label |
Alt+Shift+6 | Open Settings Page |
A volume knob or extra keys can be pointed at media keys (volume, mute, play/pause) — those work through your operating system and don't need a Chrome shortcut.
Want it to just work?
The Hot-Label Controller comes pre-flashed with every command above, plus a volume knob — no mapping required.
